“ Great restaurant off the beaten track. Don't be put off by first appearances - we had delicious tapas at a very reasonable price and a very nice dry white wine. The food was excellent, service good and our waitress was very helpful, explaining some of the more unusual items on the menu (old clothes - shredded beef and tomato casserole!) We only called in at Puerto de la Cruz, but had we stayed there we would definitely have revisited Restaurante Bencome. Definitely recommend. ”

The big shrimps on the giant paella were so fresh and delicious! And the staffs were friendly too. I was a bit surprised by the clean tables, the forks and the knives and the wine glasses. They were much better than the other expensive restaurants in the tourist spot. The restaurant is located 2-3 min away from the tourist spot but it’s definitely worth to try out. The price is reasonable. It was very hard for us to find a restaurant like this after being scammed at many restaurants in the tourist area and finally we found a good one! We had a good time. Thank you. ”
“ Really nice gem hidden between hotels. I guess it’s a place for locals as nobody spoke English, but nobody needs English to cook great food (actually no English is a plus). The food was great. I tried the fish/seafood. The wine was great (house wine?) and super low prices. Since the portion was huge i could take the rest home to enjoy the next day. Thanks! ”
